Southwest Boise things to do - World Center Birds of Prey

 

What is there to do at the World Center for Birds of Prey? You will Learn how The Peregrine Fund was founded in 1984. This is a non-profit organization that has helped to establish how to breed falcons, eagles and condors in captivity. World center birds of prey's involvement in the work done here has contributed to the fact that peregrines were able to be re-established in the east and that California condors are off the brink of extinction. Most of the center is closed to the public since young birds bred here and are also released in the wild and the center cannot let humans get at all friendly with the wild birds.

Boise Depot

The Boise Train Depot is a Spanish style structure operated by the Boise Parks & Recreation Department in the bench Boise real estate area.

Boise River Greenbelt

The 22.5 mile Boise River Greenbelt is one of Boise's most beloved parks. The City of Boise has a pathway 22.5 miles long called the Boise River Greenbelt that is tree lined, follows the Boise river which in turn provides scenic views, pedestrian access, and wildlife habitat.  The greenbelt provides access to many popular riverside parks in the Boise real estate area. Commuters also use the Greenbelt as an alternative transportation route.  Before the 1960's the Boise River was used as a convenient dumping place , raw sewerage, and industrial waste..  Boise river and it's banks was severely damaged by years of neglect. Boise city hired an consultant in 1964 to write a comprehensive plan and this really took hold in 1966 and 1967 when three small parcels were given to the City of Boise for a greenbelt.

Part of North Boise real estate is in the foothills.  Whether jogging, walking, or riding on a bicycle the trails are maintained in the North end in and around the Boise foothills. This area has always been a sought after place to live.  Trees line Harrison Boulevard, historic mansions set the tone for this quaint old neighborhood. The downtown area is in this northern district and is referenced by locals as the North End. Many couples looking for charm are fixing up homes in this area, creating a renewed interest in one of Boise real estate historic first neighborhoods.

First Thursday takes place on the first Thursday of each month, throughout downtown Boise. The event takes place from 5:00-9:00 pm and focuses on providing downtown visitors the chance to stroll through the unique shops and galleries in downtown, while enjoying in-store entertainment and special events. Baldwin Park - North West Meridian, Idaho

Baldwin Park is a fun Idaho community of 300 homes, where neighborhood events draw residents together. Baldwin Park is known for its 4th of July parade that begins at the pool and ends at the community's main park. The short patriotic ceremony is followed by a community pancake breakfast where families bring blankets and chairs for the full picnic experience.

This July 4th celebration is just one of many events organized by the Baldwin Park Home Owners Association (HOA). There's an Easter event in the spring, National Night Out in August, Fall Festival in October and Fall Flower Cleanup in November.
