Boise is a beautiful, bustling city located in southwestern Idaho. The town straddles I-84, in a great central location. Boise rests right in the heart of arid, southwestern Idaho, just 350 miles from Salt Lake City and 490 miles from Seattle.

With great real estate opportunities, Boise draws people into its fast-paced lifestyle. It is the perfect place to live, work, and play with a perfect mix of community-based activity and big city life.

Boise's School System

The school system in Boise is well known throughout Idaho for its accomplishments. The Boise Independent School District ranks as one of the most successful and high achieving school districts in the country. It serves nearly 25,000 students in 50 schools.

Boise is also the home to several institutions for continuing education, including Boise State University (BSU), ITT Technical Institute, and Boise Bible College.

Boise's Sports Activities

Education isn’t the only great thing happening in Boise. The city’s wide range of activities provides year-round entertainment to suit all tastes. BSU’s Taco Bell Arena seats 12,000 people and is the place to be for big ticket sporting events and rock concerts.

The Morrison Center for the Performing Arts is also on the campus of BSU. This 2,000-seat acoustically-perfect performance facility is one of the best in the country. People come to the Morrison Center to enjoy ballet, musicals, and touring theatrical productions.

Boise's Community Events

Downtown Boise also offers a wide variety of community events. “Alive After Five” brings live musicians, entertainers, and great food to downtown on Wednesday evening between May and the end of September. “First Thursday” events also bring street entertainment, special promotions, and local art to downtown on the first Thursday of each month.

Boise holds several annual events for its residents. People flock to the Gene Harris Jazz Festival every April and the Humanitarian Bowl every December. The Idaho Shakespeare Festival is held each summer, where families can enjoy outdoor theater at its finest.

Boise's Old West Heritage

Boise is also known for its Old West Heritage, kept alive by rodeos and the world-famous Snake River Stampede, held in nearby Nampa. The Western Idaho Fair also brings agricultural attractions, as well as rides, food, and big name entertainment every August.

No matter what kind of entertainment you enjoy, Boise has something for you. The sense of community is perpetuated each year as residents join together to celebrate the holidays and changing seasons. Every day is a good day to live in Boise.
