Boise's Community Events
Downtown Boise also offers a wide variety of community events. “Alive After Five” brings live musicians, entertainers, and great food to downtown on Wednesday evening between May and the end of September. “First Thursday” events also bring street entertainment, special promotions, and local art to downtown on the first Thursday of each month.
Boise holds several annual events for its residents. People flock to the Gene Harris Jazz Festival every April and the Humanitarian Bowl every December. The Idaho Shakespeare Festival is held each summer, where families can enjoy outdoor theater at its finest.
Boise's Old West Heritage
Boise is also known for its Old West Heritage, kept alive by rodeos and the world-famous Snake River Stampede, held in nearby Nampa. The Western Idaho Fair also brings agricultural attractions, as well as rides, food, and big name entertainment every August.
